I decided to do this combination of Captain America and Iron Man because whenever someone ask me, “Who is your favorite super hero” I am tired of saying I have to. With combining them and calling the combination Iron Captain, I will finally have one super hero.

Advice to Future Victims

Digital Story telling is a VERY hard class to judge. When hearing about DS106 all you here before you are actually in the class is that it is easy; however, this is FAR from the truth. From day one the class has been VERY demanding. Do to the fact that you expect the class to be so easy at the beginning it really catches you off guard that you will actually not only have to give effort but spend numerous hours on assignments. As a result you will have to lose the time you expected to spend on your other classes as well as a lot of pain and suffering from the headaches this class will give you. Once you finally start to get the hang of the class you will REALLY get frustrated because of the fact that you got assignments so late, and you also were forced to try and teach yourself each assignment if you arent very computer smart. For example, you are not just expected to know how to upload videos to youtube but to actually learn how to edit the videos on youtube.

With all this being said I would have to honestly say if time permits itself I would recommend this class because it teaches you a lot it is just a matter of whether you will be able to put the time and effort into the assignments. You learn to let your creativity be seen and also how to use the many different essential parts that make up the world wide web today.

April 17th Week of Pretty Girl Convention

Closing in on the second to last week for college students to really party, this weeks event is really a big deal. This week we will be renting a bus that will be picking up students from VUU and VSU and bringing them to the party. As well as passing out flyers at an AKA convention. The AKAs are a sorority that is part of the Nation Pan Hellenic Council and one of the more popular greek organizations. However, they have a lot of rules that keep them from hosting events officially. As a result, my company and I have been searching out popular AKAs in an effort to put together a host committee to promote the event.

Day Before Big Event

The day before a huge event is always very stressful. Just like anything else in life it seems that everyone wants to contact you right before something when they could have contacted you all week. This week is very difficult because everyone seems to have your number when you know you didnt give it out to half of the people with it. This causes you to be VERY irritated; however, you have to be as professional as you possibly can and hope FRIDAY comes as soon as possible.

For my mash up I was really torn between doing a video and an image. I decided to simply go along with the image mash up. For my image mash up I decided to do the people I feel should have won Nba titles during times of other dominate players. First is Karl Malone and John Stockton, which consistently lost to Michel Jordan. The second is Lebron James who although some consider the best player in the league is ringless while Kobe has a “fully dressed hand.” Each of my mash ups were very simple. Week of April 15th

Around April 15th weekend is always a HUGE weekend for my promotional company because it is my business partners birthday weekend. He is a very well known person in the Richmond area as a result numerous people feel obligated to party with him on his birthday weekend. Since today is Tuesday and it is a good distance from the Friday events I am currently setting my automated tweets in an effort to make sure that people are consistently seeing the theme and prices of the party. The automated tweets come up every 5 to 6 minutes on 3 different profiles. While the auto twitter also follows and unfollows people the whole day.

Last Friday was a real rough day for my promotional team because we needed to have a decent event in order to have a sell out the next week. However, it was raining and thunder storming so the event ended up just being “alright”. In the eyes of a promoter an “alright” event is one that does not bring profit or one that has a lack of people in attendance. This particular Friday because of the rain was a combination of both. When a night like this happens the typical lively promoters is very quite and very unfriendly which normally cause the people that did come that weak to not come the next which is a real double negative.

This week is once again hectic because it is the final week before all the big events happen as college slowly comes to an end. Our approach for this week is to attack the VCU market because we had the VCU Basketball team confirm they would be at the event. We will also be going after the VSU market by getting the AKAs (Sorority) at VSU to celebrate their 1 year anniversary at our estatblishment. The theme for this week is Models and Moguls in an attempt to make people feel as though they have to dress up in order to fit in. Having people dress up always makes it less likely for people to fight and that insures a fun and safe atmosphere.
